Earth Day 2021
Founded in 1970 by Wisconsin senator Gaylord Nelson, Earth Day started as a teach-in for environmental issues. 51 years later Earth Day is still encouraging us to learn about and get engaged with sustainable activities. Here at EBTH helping our community while finding new homes for items is our passion. Over 9.5Million tons of non-recyclable furniture and other furnishings accumulated in landfills as of 2018. By shopping with us you can positively impact the Earth, one item at a time and keep items out of landfills.
Fashion and Accessories
The sustainability movement gained traction with the downfall of fast fashion. From vintage to gently used designer it has become popular to invest in key wardrobe pieces. 80% of clothing is thrown away within a year of being purchased, by buying second hand fashion you are reducing the estimated 10 million tons of fabric sent to landfills yearly.

Furniture
Wooden furniture often has a lot of life left in it by the time people decide to upgrade or update their rooms. These pieces not only stand the test of time, but can be refinished to add new life to worn out pieces.

Rugs
Antique and vintage rugs are classic design elements that get better with age. Their unique patterns add warmth and character to any space and crafted with a level of detail and durability hard to come by in modern textiles. Look at a new “distressed” rug side-by-side with the real thing; you can’t deny the richness and vibrancy of an original.

Kitchen and Houewares
There are plenty of items in the kitchen that not only last for generations, but can increase in value as they become vintage or collectible. Le Creuset enameled cast iron cookware, KitchenAid stand mixers and vintage Pyrex are highly sought after, and prime second hand purchases.
