Aaron Wooten
EBTH E X H I B I T presents a collection of contemporary paintings and sculptures by Chicago-based artist Aaron Wooten. The collection features portraits, comical figural scenes, abstract compositions, and industrial cityscapes. Paintings range in sizes from small canvases and ceramic sculptures, to narrow large-scale wood panels. Don’t miss the opportunity to add this unique illustrative style to your collection!
Contemporary artist Aaron Wooten specializes in cityscapes, portraits, and figural paintings, many of which exhibit farce and provocative content, humor, and the unapologetic imperfections of humanity. Inspired by the satirical work of John Currin, Wooten first began painting portraits in 2005, including portraits of cultural icons such as celebrities, American presidents, and political leaders. While his portraits reflect the style of caricature and comic illustrations, his graphic cityscapes are executed with a Modern illustrative style and are often of monumental scale. Inspiration for these pieces are drawn from northern industrial art of early 20th century Ireland and England, particularly L.S. Lowry’s paintings of working life. By presenting themes that are reflective on society and the past, Wooten aims to combine laughter, sadness, and reality in his unique work.
